Belhurst Castle!

HIGH: We had an amazing time at Belhurst Castle celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary :)
LOW:  We missed our babies :(
For our 10th wedding anniversary we headed up to Geneva, NY to Belhurst Castle with our wedding buddies, The Porters.
We all stayed right at the Castle and it was gorgeous!
To the right is the original castle and then they added a newer more modern section on (to the left).
 Here was our room.
It was so cozy, I loved it!
It was so gorgeous.
There was a spigot with wine outside of our room!  You could just fill up with red wine whenever you felt the need!
The entire castle was stunning.  It was so old and full of rich wood.  It was breathtaking.
There were amazing fireplaces in pretty much all of the rooms.  The detail was incredible.  This is the fireplace in the bar that used to be the dining room when it was a functioning castle.
Carrie, the owner of the castle had her childrens' faces etched into one of the stone columns in the castle.
The views were amazing no matter where you were.
Our first night we did a Wine Pairing.  It was six courses coupled with a different wine for each course.  The food was delicious and the wine was amazing.
Mark and I at dinner.
Jason and Kristy at dinner.
After dinner we headed to the bar.  It was so beautiful.
A smooch for my hubbie of ten years!
There was an amazing fire pit where we sat and relaxed.
Mark was the first (and only) one to break a glass.
The next morning we got up and had a nice breakfast at the castle and then headed on a wine tour of Seneca Lake.
We were very excited about our Cadillac and driver that we rented for the day.  Then THIS pulled up.  After a phone call we found out that our Cadillac had some brake issues so we were the proud renters of this amazing MINIVAN!
One of first wineries that we went to (Fox Run) had this nice board up to help us out with the pronunciations of all the wines.  This was EXTREMELY helpful throughout the day!
The Porters and The Komosinskis at Fox Run.
Our next stop was Anthony Road Winery.
Anthony Road was gorgeous and we loved the woman who did our tasting!
Here we are at Miles Winery with the owner.  Mark became buddies with the owner.  Apparently the poor guy was just taken by a scam where people came with black top telling him they would do a small area for him because they had some left over black top.  When all was said and done they charged him $7,000!!  Mark was very intrigued and was going to try to get him his money back!!  Gotta love Mark!
Miles Winery was gorgeous and said to be haunted!
It was so beautiful here that poor Jason and Kristy had to pose for a billion pictures while I played with my camera.
Then we headed to Shaw Winery.
Our driver Dan was very involved in our wine tour and gave us many lessons on the wineries and the wine!
Shaw winery was not our favorite as far as wine went but we LOVED their glasses.  As hard as we tried they would not let us keep the glasses though :(
Here is Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard.  It was gorgeous here!
The glasses were pretty here too and no they would not let us keep these either :(
The boys.
Kristy and Jason posing for more of my practice pictures.
The Ten Year Club.  We were a little more reserved than we were ten years ago in Jamacia...a little :)
Dan giving us another lesson.
Kristy did a great job navigating our trip using her map and our magic pen.
Here we are at Chateau Lafayette Reneau.  They had delicious wines here.
 The view here was breathtaking.
It's hard to tell but here are some of their grapes.
Kristy did some serious wine tasting here.
Jason and I deep in thought over our wine choices.
Kristy and I lovin' our wine.
We had so much fun.  Gotta love Jason doing his signature pose.
Here we are at Atwater Estate Vineyards.  They had the BEST wines and it was our favorite!  It also had the most amazing view!
Kristy checking out the view!
As the wine tour was winding down Mark was taking a little rest in the Cadillac, I mean Minivan.  We were trying to catch him resting but he woke up :)
Here are my three favorite wines from our tastings.  Well, minus the ridiculously expensive wine (that I loved)!!

We made it to 9 wineries in 6 hours!  We had a blast!  After our tastings we had a fabulous dinner and somehow managed to stay up to sit around the fire pit and have one last drink for our last night.  We met a few other couples and had nice time chatting and making some new friends.  The next morning we got up and had a nice breakfast in town and headed home to get our babies.
It was a perfect trip and an amazing way to celebrate our ten incredible years of marriage with great friends!
