The Y

High: Great morning at the Y :)
Low: The weather was yucky :(

Today was the first day that we didn't have too much planned.  Claire had swim lessons at our local YMCA and that was all we had planned.  Let me just start by saying that we LOVE the Y.  The kids both take swim lessons and they have a great kids room so that you can go and work out.  It works out perfectly because the kids can do their lessons and Mark and I can work out.  Oliver goes on Monday with Daddy and Claire goes on Wednesdays.  It was a great morning (except for I tried a recipe for Iced Coffee and was super excited to have it this morning and it was waaayyyyy too strong).  Claire swam and Oliver hung out with Mark while I worked out.  Of course I had my camera BUT I forgot my memory card so I didn't get any pictures.  But, I do have these pictures from we went to the Y a few weeks ago on a yucky day so that the kids could just use the pool.
Oliver loves the water! He doesn't mind getting his face wet at all so he goes crazy in the water!  Of course I always dumped water on my babies faces in the bathtub while they were infants so that they wouldn't be afraid of water (that sounds a lot meaner than it really was).  And thank you Mark for taking a few pictures so that I could be in them :)
Claire loves the water too!  She has no fear and loves to swim underwater and play.  She stays in that water until her little lips are purple and the uncontrollable shivering starts to annoy her, then she wants to get out.
I could eat this face!  Actually today I did, well I bit him a little too hard and he cried for a second.  But it was just a second, I swear!  I can't help it!!!!   LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!!!!
My favorite thing is to see Claire and Oliver play together.  They are so sweet and just love each other.  I really hope it stays this way!

After the Y we went to Tim Hortons and then ran a few errands.  After that we just came home, took a nap and just relaxed.  It was great!  I wish the weather was a little warmer but it didn't stop me from enjoying the day with my babies!

SUMMER!!

Summer is here!!  It's officially summertime!  Which means busy busy busy...but in a good way!  No work to worry about, just good old summer fun!  I plan on blogging everyday again BUT my computer (AKA Mackie) is a little slow and gives me some trouble.  So I plan to blog everyday but we have to see if Mackie will cooperate.
Sunday was Jacqie's wedding shower.  Everything was perfect.  The food was delicious and she got a TON of great things to get her and Nick started!
Monday was swim lessons and then afterwards we went to Aunt Irene's house to do some swimming with the family.  We had a great time!  The kids are getting so big and they love to play together.
Oliver loved the water and was livin' the life!  He got to relax in the water while Great Grandma fed him his bottle right in the pool.
Claire and Oliver had fun splashin' around in the rafts.
Then after a quick nap we headed to lacrosse.  Yes, Claire plays lacrosse now!  She is the youngest kid on the Mini Monsters team (Mark knows the coach and worked his baby into the program).  She LOVES it!
We have a little trouble keeping the goggles in place, but she loves her mouth guard.
Claire does great with the drills!  Last week they worked on drills, which worked out perfect for her because they were moves that she already knew from dance class (thanks Aunt Jacqie).
Today was their first "game".  Claire did pretty well, the other kids are a little bigger than her so she got a little nervous but she warmed up with some help from her awesome coaches.  Here is Claire getting her goggles fixed for the 30th time and she is probably chatting the poor girl's ear off.
The huddle.  Notice Claire.  She is trying to work her way in.  The poor kid, her hair rubber band snapped and her hair was ALL OVER THE PLACE!
There was a few times during the game that Claire decided to do her own thing.  That is Claire all the way to the right facing the complete opposite direction.
She tried soooo hard to get the ball (she is all the way to the right)! The coaches helped her out a little and she did score a goal!  And we were totally those parents who jumped out of their chairs and screamed and cheered!  Even Oliver clapped and yelled "YAAAAAA!".  It was super cute!!
Claire loved the high fives between the teams at the end of the game.
Oliver loved watching Claire!  He kept pointing to the field and yelling!  We think he was pointing at Claire and cheering for her but he may be have pointing at the birds and occasionally yelling out "Irdy!" for birdie. He did take a break to drink his bottle and relax.
Claire did such a great job that we took her to Taffy's for some french fries and ice cream afterwards (ooorr we may have bribed her a little bit)! She loves the buffalo there, she gets a kick out of the fact that he is wearing pants.

Mark and I are so excited for summer!  We have a lot planned but mostly we are just excited to relax and spend time with the kids!

Oliver's Birthday Party

Last Saturday was Oliver's birthday party.  We had it at our local park and the weather was PERFECT!  We had a minor mishap with other people being in our shelter but once that was resolved, all was GREAT!!!!  PS my good friend Tammy made this beautiful sign for Oliver's party!  It was perfect and added a special touch to the perfect day.
The grandma's had a blast loving up the birthday boy.
Oliver had fun hanging out with his godfather.  Who also happens to be his look a like!
Claire loved playing with her BFF Giada and her cousin Layne.
They had a ball playing in the splash pad!
When Uncle Bill showed up Claire couldn't wait to give him a hug!
Oliver went in the splash pad with Aunt Erin and he LOVED it!  I think I have another water baby on my hands!
My big ONE year old.
Mark worked hard to get all the food out (after he kicked the other people out of our shelter).
While Mark did that, I snuggled up the birthday boy!
And Claire ate about 3 thousand chips.
Papa had no problem getting everyone started on the food.
Everyone enjoyed the food.
And of course, Erin and I had some SERIOUS things to discuss!
Everyone enjoyed the food!!  How cute is Mark's grandma with her little hat on!
Claire loved playing with her friends all day!
After everyone enjoyed the playground, the splash pad, and a delicious dinner it was time for CAKE!
Oliver couldn't wait to dive in!  Even before we finished singing he was already sampling the cake!
Then he was unstoppable!!!!
He chowed down!!  This boy enjoyed his food!  Oliver moaned the whole time he ate!

Happy little man!
Claire and Giada loved singing happy birthday!
Then it was time for PRESENTS!!!
"WOW!  This thing is awesome."
He loved opening his gifts!
Oliver also enjoyed reading his cards.
Then Mark and Nick cleaned up the food.
We attempted to get a picture of the cousin together.  We are getting better with this I think!!  After about 35 pictures and a few tears we did end up with this cute shot!
One of the prizes in the kids treat bags were these hilarious mustaches!!!
Who doesn't look awesome with a mustache!
Even Papa reverted back to his old mustache days.
While we packed up the car, the kids played on the swings.
And so did the adults.
Oliver loved swinging with Jenna.
Oliver had so much fun the whole day!  He is just so happy!!!
Then it was time to say goodbye to Owen.  I swear, give it a few more months and these two are gonna be TROUBLE!!!
Me and Nana.  Nana was a huge help, as always!

Overall, it was a great party!  I loved sharing this day with our family and friends!!
We spent Sunday playing with all of Oliver's new toys!!!!  And then we headed to Nana's for a nice father's day dinner (more about that in my next post).
Even Pete wanted to play with Oliver's new toys!!
Thank you everyone for the great presents and for sharing my baby's special day with us!
