Step In The Right Direction...

High: The guys came to work on the dining room :)
Low: Claire had school today and I missed her like crazy :(

So, this morning Mark got a call from Wayne Newton, our fix it guy. Well, his name is not really Wayne Newton. His name is Wayne and he works for Newton construction. Mark and I just call him that. So anyway when we moved in about a year ago we both agreed...the dining room had to go! While beautiful in its prime, it was waaaayyyy too much for us. It had layers (yes that's right.. layers) of crazy wallpaper. So my husband decided to start tearing it down and it turned out to be a way bigger project than we thought it was going to be. So we had to hire help. Wayne is awesome and reasonable. Problem is...you have to wait until he is available. But today...HE CALLED!!!! YAY!!!! We still have a ways to go but this is definitely a step in the right direction!!!

Here is the dining room before Wayne Newton got at it. I will keep you posted as it progresses!!

As for my low, Claire had school. Now I shouldn't say this is a low. The only "low" thing about it is that she gone all day :(. We keep her in daycare two days a week over the summer for a few reasons. 1. To keep her in a routine so that in September she is not a mess starting over, 2. She LOVES it! Claire asks us at least once a day "I go school now?" and 3. It really helps us to get stuff done. While we are off for the summer, Mark is still selling real estate. So he just tries to do the most of it on the days Claire is in school. I, on the other hand, get the house cleaned, shopping done, go the gym, dentist appts, etc.

On the days that Claire has school, she is BEAT when she gets home. And I mean BEAT! Which it is funny that I chose to say that she was beat because apparently at school she kept singing Beat It by Michael Jackson (may he rest in peace).

All she wanted was her Claire chair, her silky, and a little bit of Elmo to unwind after a long day.

So we decided to start "Tubbie Time" a little early tonight.

We began with going potty. Claire enjoys reading while on the throne :)

Then Claire read me some books to get ready for bed.

Then finally.....
sleep.

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!!!

High: Today was Claire's first swim lesson :)
Low: The grass was a little soggy from the rain yesterday and that made for quite the mess while playing. :( Also, I got my first sunburn of the year :(

Today was Claire's first swim lesson. She was the BEST in the class. Well, that's because she was the ONLY one in the class! The other little boy didn't show up. So Claire had Ms. Lauren all to herself. It was really cute. Claire had to chase a little duckie and put her face in the water and make bubbles. NO PROBLEM! She wasn't afraid of anything. Claire really loves the water so this was perfect for her. The only problem was..SHE KEPT DRINKING THE WATER!!!

After a huge lunch ( Claire was starving after swim class) and a looonnnngggg nap it was back in the water. No breaks for our little swimmer in training!!!

After splashing all the water out Claire and Daddy liked to splash in the mud!!
All that mud led to nice pedicure for Daddy :)

Now for the best part! Daddy decided to make a little water slide for Claire, and the idea was well recieved!

"Hmmm this doesn't look too bad...."
"weeeeeeee!!!"

"THAT WAS AWESOME!!"

Wait! Someone else wants a turn!

Hmmm I wonder why Daddy wanted to put the slide in the pool :)

So, the second day of our vacation was a success! It was so nice to just play all day and relax! We had a delicious dinner of hotdogs on the grill, followed by a nice visit by Grandma and Uncle Kevin. Now it is off for our tubbie, then we will read our 75 books, and then we will head to bed to rest up for another fun filled day tomorrow!!!!!

Opening Day!!!

Hello friends!! Here it is, the opening day of my much anticipated blog. I have no idea how to start so I guess I will start by explaining why I started a blog. I have a few friends that blog and I have always been jealous that they have all these wonderful things documented. So I decided that while I am off during the summer I will blog all the ridiculous things that take place during my day. Also, we have family and friends that live out of town, out of state, and out of the country. I thought a blog would be a great way for them to keep up on whats happening in our lives. So my goal is to blog everyday. I am not promising anything but I am going to do my best. Each day I will explain a high and a low of the day. This meaning that I will explain a high thing (a good point of the day) and a low thing (a "bad" thing of the day). So here goes..........

High: It rained :)
Low: It rained :(

You are probably wondering how it is possible that the low and high of the day was that it rained. Well, here is the thing even though I am now on vacation the last week has been pure madness. With wrapping up the end of the school year there has been no time for anything else. So today we were stuck inside because of the rain. I got lots of laundry done, cleaning done, and just relaxing. But because it was raining we couldn't play outside.

Claire couldn't get enough of Pete today. She loves him everyday but today she was very concerned with him. She just kept hugging him and talking to him. It was adorable.

Here Claire is just doing a random kiss on the lips!!

Here she is asking him "What's wrong Peter Nard?" (his name is Peter Bernard)

So other then hanging in the house all day we did some running around. I can't spend a whole day in the house, I start to get antsy. We went to Target to get Claire a new bathing suit for her first swim lesson tomorrow morning. Then we went out for dinner and then for ice cream!

Here's my girl lovin' her ice cream!

We finished the night off with Mark playing his guitar for Claire (and her helping a little).
