A REAL FORT!

So, Oliver's furniture came last Monday and since Mark and I couldn't wait to see it (because that is just the kind of people we are) we HAD to open it.  Well, it was a little bit more of a project than we thought it would be!

And of course Claire had to help.

TADA!!  Here is the armoire.  After the 20 minutes it took to get it OUT of the box, we admired it for about 2 minutes.  We oohed and ahhed and then we realized  WE HAD A BIG HUGE BOX FOR A FORT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the fort before we got started (and yes that is a mirrored wall behind it, please don't ask).

We busted out the markers, stickers, and crayons and WENT TO TOWN!  Here is me and Claire in the fort (Daddy cut me a special pregnancy door).

While in the fort Claire wanted to call Nana and Papa to come over and see it.  And of course, being Nana and Papa they rushed right over.  Papa went right in.  Claire told him to use the pregnancy door :)

Then it was Nana's turn to use the pregnancy door and come in.

Even Pete couldn't resist this AWESOME fort :)

When it was time to "clean up" the fort so we could vacuum Claire found yet ANOTHER use for the fort.  A PUPPET SHOW!  I swear I ask myself all the time...why do we bother BUYING these kids toys?!

Big Top Claire!

Last Saturday was Claire's (and my) first trip to the circus!  We had a BLAST!
Thank you so much Jenn for the tickets, it was a really great night and we made some wonderful memories that we will NEVER forget :)

Claire loved "The Swingers" aka the trapeze artists!  She kept saying "Are they swinging?!  They are so high!!"  But overall her favorite part was the pony rides during intermission.

Claire got her first tattoo at the circus.  And she is now obsessed!!  She wants to know who has a tattoo and where!

Claire couldn't get over the "huge man".
Disclaimer: Terrible picture of Mommy.

The circus itself was pretty long!  I was surprised how late it got.  Claire loved the last act of the tigers and lions. She kept saying they were Simba and Mufasa.

It was at this point we busted out the silky so Claire could just relax and enjoy the end of the show.

I will say, I enjoyed my first trip to the circus.  I loved the food, the music, and the madness of it all.  Although, I will say that I felt a little let down by the clowns.  I am not sure what I expected but I was a little let down by them.  Also, I was a little let down when the Ringmaster went on and on about the special guest who came so far and blah blah.  I was so excited to see who was about to come out.  I was on the edge of my bleacher seat, I could barely contain my self..... and then out comes this guy who balances VASES on his head.  Yeah, I couldn't do it but COME ON?!  Where were the fire eaters or the bearded lady or the freak show?! I  feel that I am ready for the next step in the Circus world.  Maybe I took the book Geek Love too seriously but now I am hooked and I need to see more!!

The last week.......

In the last week or two we have been very busy.  I have taken a bunch of fun pictures so I figured I would just post some of them.

Claire built her first fort last weekend.  It was kind of a sad one but still picture worthy.  She did get annoyed though because Pete kept going in it.

On Sunday we went to Mark's parents for dinner.  Here is Claire watching a movie with her buddy Grandpa.

Owen having a blast :)

Somebody must have said something hilarious (I think it
was Aunt Erin).

Claire explaining some serious stuff to Owen.

Claire's school had a St Patrick's Day Party last night. It was really fun.  We got to go from classroom to classroom and make all different kinds of crafts and play different games.  Clarie loved showing us around her school.

Claire had her dance pictures on Monday night.  Of course I had to snap a couple of pictures before we left!  She was sooo excited to get to wear makeup!!

Even though she isn't smiling here, I had to put this in.  HOW CUTE IS THIS COSTUME?!?!?!

26 Weeks!!

I am now 26 weeks and some change.  I had a sonogram last night and all is well.  Oliver is getting soooo big annndddd I think that he may look like me :)  He is still moving around like crazy and I can see my stomach moving a lot throughout the day.  It is so amazing!!!  I really do love being pregnant, it is just so crazy to me...I AM MAKING A PERSON!!!  As of yesterday Oliver weighs about 2 pounds and his feet are about 2 inches :)  I still feel great!  Even though last night I did feel like I was having a heart attack but then Mark reminded me that it may be indigestion from my McDonalds dinner feast.  After about 1,000 TUMS and sitting upright I realized that he was probably right :)

Claire On Ice

Today was a busy day.  Mark had the day totally off, so we decided to do some much needed errands.   So we got up and got busy.  We started off by completing the order for the baby's furniture, getting Claire new sneakers, getting the baby's bedding, and finally getting Claire some ice skates and a helmet.

Yes....I said I ice skates.  Mark has been DYING to get Claire on skates since he started playing hockey.  And apparently today was the day to start (at the beginning of March).  We found some skates in Claire's size (ok a little bigger than Claire's size) and a helmet and we were all set!

We got in the car to head home for some lunch and a nap.  Mark was so excited to get Claire on skates he started calling every place in the area (and some places in the not so area) to find some open skate times.  Yep...no one does that on Sundays.  Defeated and down right sad we headed home.  Mark was very sad (notice I said Mark and not Claire).  So we ate our lunch and settled down for our afternoon nap.  While I was taking my much needed afternoon nap I could hear Mark banging around and going in and out of the house.  I woke up and he was READY!  He had Claire's stuff all ready (and his too) and he was just waiting for Claire to wake up.  He found a place down town that had open skate!!!

After Claire finally got up (she took a late nap due to all the errands) we high tailed it downtown to SKATE!  Now, the open skate was until 6 and we arrived at 5:30 only to have the man tell us that no one else was allowed on the ice.  I swear I thought Mark was gonna cry!  Then Claire's eyes got all teary.  I swear it was pitiful.  Downright pitiful.  Then I saw Mark do something I have NEVER seen him do before.  He actually started BEGGING the man to let us go on the ice just for a few minutes.  After a few minutes of begging and a little "financial persuasion" IT WAS TIME TO SKATE!!!!  Mark didn't even tie his skates!  They ended up having a blast for the 7 minutes they were out there, it was so sweet to watch.  I swear I will never know why these small things mean so much to US as parents, but I do know they make being a parent awesome!

TEAM KOMO!

PS The baby's name is Oliver John Komosinski.
