COVID & New Phones

So COVID is literally everywhere.  Every time I turn around someone else has it.  The good news is that the Omicron variant seems to be mild (especially in people who are vaccinated).

I locked myself in my bedroom for a few days.  After the 5th day I came down and ate in the "COVID seat".
Then it was Oliver's turn for the "COVID seat" lol!  Claire never emerged from her room for meals so I couldn't get a shot of her in the "COVID Seat".

We did our best to stay apart but then Claire got it and now Oliver.  Things are crazy right now.  School districts are giving out home tests so people can test more easily.  It is like a bad pregnancy test!  Claire was sick with a fever and sinus like symptoms.  Oliver had a slight fever and that was it (Knock on wood).  I am happy that none of us got really sick but I will be happy when this is all over!!!
On a better note, our new phones that we got for Christmas finally came in!!!!  Claire and I got the iphone 13 (I got the pro and she got the 13) and Oliver got my old phone (the iphone 11 pro max).  So we have all been enjoying our new phones!  Just some fun news in kind of a yucky time!

Happy New Year 2022

So the day after Christmas day I started to get a sore throat and then it happened...I got Covid... I was really fine though.  Just a sore throat, headache, and I was tired.  My only fear was that I got other people sick on Christmas.  But thankfully everyone stayed healthy!!!
Due to the COVID we decided to do a quiet New Years at the lake!!!  It is amazing how much that place just calms me down and makes me happy, even in the winter.
The weather was actually beautiful and we spent a lot of time walking on the beach!

There was a big storm about  a month ago and the beach is a little bit of a mess!

We forgot our noisemakers and decorations so Oliver made us some with his origami set!
We had fun cooking together (while wearing masks and trying to stay apart of course).
Quick shot without the masks!
The kids had a blast playing games.  I swear there is something about the beach that makes them get along so well!
Then we had our feast!!!
Then more games!
We did stop socially distancing to wish each other a happy new year and get a quick family selfie! There is no one else that I would rather be with to start the new year right!
The next morning Mark made us a delicious breakfast on his blackstone!

It wasn't our usual wild New Years but it was still wonderful to be together in our favorite place. Plus it was a year ago on New Year's eve that we learned that our cottage was for sale!  I can't believe how much can change in a year and that gives me hope that the future will continue to get better!

Merry Christmas!!!

The kids were so helpful getting ready for our Christmas Eve party.  But first they had to make their gingerbread houses from Cozy.

Our babies are getting so big!!!

Nick loved his first Christmas eve!  And we loved that he finally had off and could join us!!!
Love these guys!
The boys had more fun with the toys than the kids did!

My favorite people!
Loved that my cousin Dan was able to join us this year! It was so nice catching up!

Dave and I and our new "cute" bags!!!
It was a great night with family!
After a great party it was finally time for bed.  Then SANTA CAME!!!!
After we opened our gifts Nana and Papa came over for breakfast.

Of course, the boys spent their night playing hockey!

Hamilton!!!

I finally got to see Hamilton!!!

I HUGE thank you to Jacqie for taking me to see the BEST MUSICAL EVER!

The play was amazing and the company was even better!!!

Train Ride

This year I was THRILLED to be bringing back my absolute favorite Christmas tradition...THE TRAIN RIDE!

Tried to get a nice picture of the Komo girls but Erin punched me in the head!

Even though Theo's was closed and we couldn't do our usual dinner we still had fun! I love that even though our kids are getting older they still love the train as much as I do!
