Prom '97

Here it is.  My first prom dress.  Bought at Krasner's and in a much larger size than I wear now (well probably not RIGHT now).  I loved this dress.  That being said, in preparing for Oliver's birth we needed to clean out his closet.  Which meant saying goodbye to some old clothes.  Here is the thing, I am by no means a fashionista (that would be my girlfriend Jacqie's title - I usually call her from dressing rooms or send her pictures to make sure my clothing is ok). BUT I do have a few articles of clothing that carry some SERIOUS emotional attachments with them.  This dress being one of those things.  Now.... I am aware that I will NEVER wear this dress again BUT it was hard to say goodbye (12 years later). But I did it.  My junior year prom dress is no longer with us.  She served her purpose at two proms and now is her time to go.   Gone but not forgotten.

Had to get a close up on the jacket.  Yes, the dress had a jacket.  Look at her sparkle!!!  You will be missed.

BUT....I did keep my GAP denim overalls (also circa 1997).  Those I will NEVER part with!!  YOU HEAR THAT MARK....NEVER!!!!!!!!!

2 things-

#1 - I hope you didn't throw that lovely dress out yet! I kept all my old prom dresses in a box so that Poppy can play dress up with them when she gets a bit older!!! Save it for Claire!

#2 - I also have a pair of Gap circa 1997 overalls that I refuse to get rid of!!! I wonder if they're the same ones!!!

I used to rock the denim overalls as well. I'm jealous that you still have yours. I wore mine so much that the buckles broke.

Ahhhh.....sparkly dresses and denim overalls. It is fun being a girl, isn't it. We get to wear the whole spectrum of articles of clothing. By the way I too have my denim "shortalls" from the Gap...just too special to give away.
