Mother’s Day

I had an amazing Mother's Day this year!
Last year we started splitting up Mother's day into a whole weekend so that no one had to rush around at all and we all got to spend quality time together.  And in doing it this way, each Momma gets their own Momma time!  On Friday we went to Texas DeBrazil (aka the Meat Factory) and celebrated my mother!!
Yesterday was all about me!  I got beautiful cards from Claire and Oliver and had a delicious dinner at the Poppyseed!
And then we wrapped the weekend up with a wonderful Sunday spent with my mother in law!
This was the only picture that I got but my Mother in law is still in there!
I also thought that this post would be a great time to give an update on the kids!
Claire is growing into such a young lady!  She still LOVES to read and loves music!  She can usually be found reading, listening to music, or watching YouTube.  She still continues to help me with EVERYTHING around the house and never complains.  As she gets older she is finding her personality and it definitely has some silliness to it (I knew it was in there!  It was only a matter of time!).  Claire steers clear of drama (thank God) and works hard at everything she does! She is doing so well in school!!!  I am so proud of the young woman that she is.  She starts middle school in the fall and as much as I hate that she is growing up so quickly, I LOVE the person she is becoming and I am very excited for her because she is so very ready!
This guy is growing up into such a little man. He is obsessed with anything hockey or football.  He is currently playing hockey and lacrosse and LOVING every minute of it!  He loves to read and can always be found either reading, looking at this hockey/football cards, or playing some of sport while cheering for himself!
Oliver carries his binder of hockey/football cards around so much that his bus driver (Ms. Kay) made him this fancy case to carry his binder around!  Oliver is the most thoughtful and caring little boy that I know.  He was the one who remembered how much I love the Poppyseed and said that we need to go to dinner there for Mother's day.  He is always thinking of others and I love that about him.  He can be out there on the hockey and lacrosse field "destroying" kids and then he runs over and tells me he loves me before getting back out there.

I am so grateful and blessed on this mother's day to not only have a wonderful mother and an amazing mother in law but to have two of the greatest kids in the universe.  I thank God everyday for my family and I couldn't be happier with my life right now.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

Happy mother's day! And I wish I would have known you were going to the Poppyseed! My mother's day gift to you would be to steal those evil carb-laden pitas from you! You wouldn't appreciate it at the time, but someday you will thank me!!
