HIGH: A lazy cozy day at home :) AND A wonderful birthday dinner with my sisters at Rue Franklin :)
LOW: Kate wasn't home to join us :(
This morning was spent doing nothing. We wore our jammies all day and played with toys and watched TV. It was wonderful. These are the kind of days that I am sure when my kids are old and grown I will miss the most.
Later that evening I had a date with my girls. My bestest friends (or pretty much my sisters) and I have a 30th birthday ritual. We all take the birthday girl to a fancy restaurant of their choice. Also, we all buy each other the same initial necklace (with our own letter of course) for our special day.
Here is my necklace. Isn't it gorgeous?!?!
For my fancy dinner of choice I picked Rue Franklin. It is a French restaurant and it was DELICIOUS! It was someplace that I have always wanted to go and when better to go than with my closest girls. I love you ladies more than you know! You are all so special to me in many different ways. It is said that friends are the family you choose for yourself. I believe this is true but I also don't think I chose any of you. I think we just came together, each in our way. It was fate. Thank you for always being there for me...good or bad. Thank you for putting up with me....good or bad. I do not know what I would do without each one of you. I don't have any real sisters and I am ok with that because each one of you is like a sister to me....good or bad :)
Colleen - We met on a side street, through 14 years old boys that we were sure we were in love with. Well, those boys came and went but we remained close. Through the years we have been through a lot and there are too many memories and laughs to count. You can finish my sentences and know all of my thoughts, even before I think them. I thank God everyday that I dated that little 14 year old with braces because he led me to you.
Jacqie - We met in the fifth grade and have been together since then, we even work across the hall from each other! We were friends but did not become close until college. Our love of Oasis, rap music, warm vodka, and a certain red Tempo brought us together. We have been through so much since then and I wouldn't change one thing. You are my partner in crime and you will tell me like it is (plus you keep me dressed nice). I thank God everyday that I did not go away to school because staying home is what led me to you.
Jenn - We also met in elementary school and we grew up 4 minutes away from each other but again, we did not get close until college. Our easy going nature and ability to talk for hours and hours and hours and hours and is what brought us together. You are a great friend who would (and has) dropped everything to be there for me. You have helped me through motherhood and I don't know how I would have made it without you. I thank God everyday that you came back from college to go to school here because that is what led me to you (that and Denny's).
Jessica - We did not meet until college when I went to work at the DB. My first impression of you was that there must be a monster hidden deep inside of you because no one could be that sweet, caring, and just plain nice. Well, I was wrong because you are you that sweet, caring, and nice. You are there for me no matter what!! You are a wonderful listener and you never judge. I appreciate you in so many ways. I thank God everyday that I got fired from my job, flipped open the phonebook and found the DB because that is what led me to you.
Kate - We met in fifth grade. We both transferred to the same school at the same time. Even though you were cooler than me (with your headbands and knee socks) eventually we got to know each other and realized that we could not live without each other. We are as different as night and day but we are also so much the same. I would not be the person I am today without you. We have been through it ALL together and I love you so much. I thank God everyday that I transferred to private school and was put in that horrible witch's class because that is what led me to you.
Shannon - We met in high school. You were a year older than me and WAAAAYYYY cooler. I looked up to you more than you know. You were beautiful, funny, and just plain cool. Everyone wanted to be around you (including me). It wasn't until we had an art class together that you and I got close. Our humor brought us closer and started a wonderful friendship. We have the ability to say it like it is to each other and laugh at ANYTHING that comes our way!! I thank God everyday that I chose art class over chorus because that is what led me to you.

So much I love about this post! Jammie days are faves at our house too. That necklace - GORGEOUS! Rue Franklin - Yum! That's where we go for our anniversary every year. And if you guys like french food, you should check out Tabree on Elmwood for one of your dinners. And I loved reading about your relationships - so sweet!
And I have never heard of anyone having as many celebrations for their birthday as you have, are you going for a record or what?!
