Hockey Tournament

Last weekend was Oliver’s last hockey tournament of the season! I will be the first to say that I definitely never saw myself as a “hockey mom”. No one in my family ever played hockey and I really felt like hockey would be just to too much for me. BUT about two years ago my baby boy gave up his dinosaurs and dragons and found hockey. He was obsessed. It was all he talked about, all he watched, and all he wanted to play. So we said, “hey. Why not?!” Since then Oliver has worked so hard to catch up to the other boys his age! He joined clinics, leagues, and extra skating lessons. He never stopped. And I swear, this was ALL Oliver!  This year his hard work paid off and he was asked to join the select team. This is something we never thought would happen seeing as he started playing so late. We all had so much fun this season! Oliver has learned so much and made so many great new friends!!!! It has been an amazing season and I wouldn’t change any of those early morning games/practices for anything! Who knows what next year will bring, all I know is that this season was amazing and we all loved every second of it! Watching my son do something he loves is incredible and he makes me proud every day.

We all made many new friends and made so many great memories!

Second place in our last tournament! Not too bad for a newbie!!!

How To Train Your Dragon

Tonight I made the kids humor me. When Oliver was super little he was OBSESSED with How To Train Your Dragon. Like obsessed. EVERYTHING he did involved dragons, every book he read was about dragons, and he even acted like a dragon for 75% of the day. Mark and I used to have to tell him “That’s enough Oliver, be a little boy now.” in order to get him to eat dinner or just talk like a regular boy. So when the new movie came out you can imagine my dismay when he was completely uninterested in seeing it. It killed me. I wanted my little dragon boy back so badly but he just wasn’t into it!!!! But he humored me and we went to see the movie (which we all loved). And yes, I made him bring his stuffed Toothless. It only seemed right.

Then I made them go furniture shopping with me!

There are definitely some perks to them growing up a bit. For example, furniture shopping was much easier and we enjoyed a nice dinner at Moe’s afterwards with some nice discussions about conspiracy theories. So while I will continue to mourn my little dragon boy and curly haired princess I will enjoy my little adults too!

Vacation

I LOVE February break! Well, I love any break so I can hang out with my buddies but February break is great! Mostly because there isn’t too much going on so we are free each day to make any plans we want to!

We stared off with a belated Valentine’s dinner with my best Loves!

Yesterday we enjoyed the West hockey game!

And today we had some fun skiing!  There MAY have been an incident with me not getting off the chair lift, but we are all good 🤣😂

While Mark and Amy got a few more runs in, we had fun takin some selfies.

Then we stopped for some hot chocolate to warm up.
It was a perfect relaxing day spent with my favorite people!
