Corona Day 3

Yesterday was another successful day here at Club Komo.
 Claire practiced some Lacrosse.
And apparently mastered "The Rainbow" whatever that is.
Then we all read to our favorite stuffed animal so we could send the pictures to my class.

The we wrapped it all up with a movie night.  Tonight's choice, Toy Story.  We have never seen 3 or 4 so we decided to start from the beginning since we have some time now.

Corona Day 2

Yesterday was our first official day of "homeschool".  While we are working through some kinks, it went pretty well.
The dining room in now our official school room!
For science Oliver got to use his Christmas gift from last year.  He made circuits!
Claire hasn't been given too much work yet so she did some reviewing of her subjects.
We all did art class together!

Claire's leprechaun came out super cute!
Oliver had fun making his leprechaun!
Mark didn't make one but he liked showing off mine!
 Overall, we all did great!
Gym class was obviously street hockey.  Claire had a note and didn't have to play hockey.  She opted to run a mile around the block instead!
We facetimed with Nana and Papa for a bit today!  They are in Florida but they are currently driving home!
I really embrace our reading hour around here!

I went to for a nice long walk after dinner and it felt really good to get out of the house and be in the sunshine.  Honestly it felt nice to feel like it was just any other day, even though I know it is not any other day.  This is a really scary time and I just keep reminding myself to focus on the good around me!

Corona Virus

Right now things are a little crazy in our country (and around the world).  The Corona Virus has pretty much taken over the world and we are all trying to stay healthy and keep it from spreading.  Schools have been closed until April as of right now and we are all encouraged to practice "social distancing" to try to slow down the spread of the virus.

So far the kids have been trying to keep themselves busy.

Mark hasn't stopped watching the news!  I am trying to take it in spurts.  Every hour there is something new on and it can get a bit overwhelming.
Oliver won't let this stop him from playing hockey!  Even though his hockey tryouts were cancelled !
Movie nights are a must during this time!
We stocked up on some books!
And we are trying to make the best out of everything.

This is all a little stressful and scary but staying positive is a must.  Each day we plan to work on some school work and make the best out of a bad situation and STAY HOME!  I have to focus on the positives.  I am very lucky that I am able to be home with my children right now and not have to worry about my job and I need to keep reminding myself of that!  Each day will be a new adventure!

February Break

We had another wonderful February break.  As much I would love to say that we were overly productive this year, I just can't say that.  We were pretty lazy and it was magical.

Claire and I watched a ton of shows about serial killers (I am absolutely thrilled that she not only shares my love of this stuff but that she is finally old enough to watch it with me)!
We did squeeze in a bit of skiing.  Although the conditions were terrible and the kids and I pretty much whined the whole time and Mark finally took us home.
I enjoyed a great dinner to celebrate one of my favorites 50th birthday!
Oliver played some Fortnight.
Claire and Kathleen made "Friendship Bears" lol
We celebrated Greg's birthday.
Oliver had some fun skating with his cousins.

Normally we squeeze in all kinds of trips to museums and day trips.  But this year the kids were pretty busy with their friends and sports, so it was tough. We did have fun grabbing dinners,  going out to breakfasts, snuggling up to watch movies, and just plain hanging out. It was a great break.  I am already looking forward to the next one!

Erie Tournament

Last weekend Oliver had a hockey tournament in Erie so we packed up our stuff and headed out to support our favorite hockey player.
These tough guys were ready to play!
And the girls loved supporting them.
These tournaments are so much more than just hockey.  These boys have so much fun playing together off the ice too.

They all have fun in between games!
 Team Komo!
 My favorite player!
Dinner after a long day and some mini sticks!
 Calling in some adult help.
The ladies like to hang out on their own!
It is such a great group of boys.  When Oliver couldn't reach the bottom for a picture, his buddy Brock immediately told him to hop up on his shoulders.  I love these boys.
After braving it for one night we decided that Oliver needed his own special bed!
 Everyone was super cozy!

 The kids had a blast!
 Samesies!

We had a blast!  I absolutely love watching Oliver play  hockey.  He works so hard and he truly loves it.  Then to see how much fun he has with his hockey buddies makes it even better.  It was a great weekend with some great memories!
