Day 65

Yesterday we had our supply pick up at school.  Last week we bagged up all of their left over supplies and today the came to get them.
We were all geared up and waiting for the kids to drive through.
It is so crazy that this is a "new normal". If you told me in September that this was the way that our school year would have ended I never would have believed you.
It was so great to see our kids again but it was so sad too.  I did not get nearly enough time with them!
Also, my mom  bought the kids these adorable masks!  And apparently I have a freakishly tiny head because they are the only masks that fit me!

Day 64

Oliver has been in heaven because we have been letting him play way more video games than usual.  It is the only way that he can "play" with his friends right now and the is loving it.  Mark has been playing with him a lot too and it is super cute to see them play (until Oliver gets frustrated with Mark because Mark isn't very good lol).
So not only I am drinking wine and buying random things online but now I have been drinking wine and buying wine related items.  I gotta get it together!

Day 63

Yesterday the weather was amazing so of course, we headed out for a hike!
Me and my best girl.
We all loved this trail.  Our landmark was very easy to find!  And the trail was beautiful!
It was so beautiful!
Oliver likes to be by himself a bit on our hikes.  Today was chatting away with himself when we were hiking and then when we got to our landmark he found a stump and sat and stared at the water for a bit.
He's my deep thinker!  I love this kid.

We sat at our landmark for a bit and just enjoyed the beauty of it!

And got a little silly!

And of course, post hike snacks. Claire's best buddy Kathleen has a cabin literally 4 minutes from this trail so we stopped over there to see their beautiful piece of land!
Then we came home and had the most delicious dinner!  FYI Oliver hasn't worn a shirt in the house since the quarantine has started.
The steaks were so delicious.
To end the night we had a fire in the driveway and the kids and Mark went for a quick night bike ride.  It was a pretty perfect day!
These guys are the big thing on facebook right now.  I don't love mine so I didn't post it online but I felt like I had to document it somewhere as one of the silly things that we are all doing online during this quarantine!

Day 62

Yesterday the weather was beautiful in the morning.  They were predicting thunder storms in the afternoon so Oliver and I headed outside early to enjoy the warm weather.  We went for a nice long walk and Oliver talked about Fortnite the entire time and then we rode our new bikes for a while.  It was so nice to have some alone time with my guy.
One of my greatest fears in life is to run out of coffee.  I got this these pods as a gift but they don't work in my keurig.

So I got creative and made it work!  I am not wasting anything these days lol.

These were the only pictures that I took today so that is why I am sharing them lol

Day 61

Yesterday Claire and Mark spent the day cleaning out the garage! It looks great and I love that Claire was so helpful!  She loves organizing and cleaning which is sooo helpful to us.  They were pretty pumped about our new bike rack for our fancy new bikes!

Day 60

Yesterday we continued our hiking challenge and did our 4th hike.  The weather was a bit chilly but the sun was shining so we finished up our work early and headed out to Griffis Sculpture Park.
We went over and over the trail map this time so that we didn't get lost again!!!
The sculptures were so cool!

There were so many beautiful places to take pictures!
The best part of this park was that all of the sculptures are built to be climbed on and touched.   It was perfect for kids!
And adults.
Found our landmark with no problems this time!!!

My little man.  He has been so positive and happy (and chatty) throughout this thing.  The only time he has gotten emotional was when he couldn't pet our neighbors dog Monty.  Other than that he has been working so hard with his school work and living his best life.  I never have to nag him about school work and fight with him to get it done. I am so proud of how hard that he is working!
We even got a picture of Me and Mark!
I have to say, I love the hiking.  Not only does it get us out of the house and give us something to do. But we have really created some amazing memories.  This is definitely something we never would have had time for in "the real world" and I am loving this part up!
My beautiful girl. She is going to be in to 8th grade next year and she is seriously just the best kid ever.  She is so easy going and helpful and NEVER treats me the way that I feared a daughter would lol.  She was just invited to take Earth Science next year at the high school before heading to the middle school to finish her day. She was also invited back for another of accelerated math.  To say that I am proud of her is a complete understatement.  I  miss her being my baby so much but I am ridiculously proud of who she is growing up to be.  Sometimes I just watch her while she is baking, fixing something, or just watching a show with me and I feel like my heart could burst.

Right now I am "teaching" my students about insects and there were so many insect sculptures!  I had to take a bunch of pictures and send them to my kids!

Then we ended the day with a nice fire and some intense fire dancing!

Day 59

Our kitchen table has been pretty  busy these days.  It has served as an office, restaurant, tech shop, craft station, game table, and school room.
We have made some great memories around this table and even though I hate the chair, I love this table.

Day 58

Yesterday I had to go to school to pack up my students' things.  I was prepared this time. I was prepared to be sad that the school year was over and I wasn't going to get a proper goodbye with my kids.  I was prepared to feel empty when I got home and want the world to go back to what it was like before.  This time I was ready.  And it wasn't as bad.  Anyone who knows me, knows how lucky and blessed that I am to have Sue as the aide in my classroom.  I don't know what I would do without her and I am so happy that I don't have to go through this alone.  We worked quickly and efficiently to get everything packed up.  When we were done, we just stood there, unable to hug and say goodbye.  So we just stood there and tried not to cry.  While it was awful, it was nice to not be alone.
And this kept happening!  Since I don't go too many places I really haven't needed to wear a mask much.  But yesterday I had to wear one pretty much all day.  And this is a real problem! LOL!

Day 57 Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday was Mother's Day.  A quarantine Mother's day.  One for the books!  We stopped to see the Moms and drop off some Mother's day treats and cards.

The kids made me breakfast in bed and made these cards!
Then I sat in my favorite chair, drank a delicious cappucino, and read my new book "Radium Girls" (which I am completely obsessed with).

Then Mark got me chinese food for dinner and it was AMAZING!!!  Then we wrapped up the night with "The Masked Singer".  It was a wonderful Mother's day.  I just wish that I could have hugged my mom, but soon enough!!!
